1. What Tutoro is

Tutoro is a marketplace that connects students and parents ("Students") with independent tutors ("Tutors"). Students post what they need help with; Tutors apply with a price and a plan; the two sides agree on terms directly before any session is booked.

Tutoro is not a school or a tutoring agency. Tutors are independent: Tutoro does not employ them, set their curriculum, or guarantee outcomes from any session.

2. Accounts

You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for anything that happens under your account. Tell us if you think your account has been accessed by someone else.

Tutor accounts are currently created by invitation only, issued by Tutoro. We may review a Tutor’s background before extending an invite and may decline or revoke access at our discretion.

3. Payments and escrow

When a Student and Tutor agree on terms, payment for each session is held in escrow and released to the Tutor automatically once that session is complete. Pricing is set by the Tutor and agreed to by the Student before booking; Tutoro does not set session rates.

A platform fee is deducted from each release to the Tutor. Payment processing is handled by our payment provider; Tutoro does not store your full card details.

4. Location and personalized matching

Tutoro starts with local families and tutors, and works best when it knows roughly where you are. By using Tutoro you agree that we may collect and use your profile details, your activity on the platform (such as requests, applications, and the tutors you favorite), and your approximate location (a city or neighbourhood you give us, or one inferred from your connection when you haven't given one) to personalize matching: to score and rank tutors and requests, and to show you nearby tutors first.

This ranking is automated, works behind the scenes, and isn't something you can see or set directly. It never reveals your exact address to anyone; see our Privacy Policy for how precise location is handled. You can change or remove your location, or turn off using it to rank and greet you, at any time in your account settings.

5. Conduct

Don't use Tutoro to arrange payment or scheduling outside the platform to avoid fees, misrepresent your qualifications, or contact another user for anything unrelated to tutoring. We may suspend or ban accounts that violate this.

6. Disputes

If a session doesn't go as agreed, either side can raise it with us. We review disputes and may adjust a payment's release as a result; our decision on a specific dispute is final.

7. Liability

Tutoro connects Students and Tutors but is not a party to the tutoring itself. To the extent permitted by law, Tutoro is not liable for the quality, safety, or outcome of any session arranged through the platform.

8. Changes

We may update these terms as the platform changes. We'll post the current version here; continuing to use Tutoro after an update means you accept it.
